While I still do not know who the parents of David J. Knapp were (the one who > married "Livingston Samuel Purvis' " daughter, Satilla "Estella" Purvis ) I did find reference to them in Fallsburgh cemetery records. (Palen Cemetery/Old Fallsburgh Cemetery where they are buried) as follows:
>
> James H. Knapp, son of David and Satilla Knapp d. June 24 1854 4 months 7 days
> Lilla L. Knapp daughter of David and Satilla Knapp d. February 20 1862
> Sally A. Knapp daughter of David and Satilla Knapp d. May 21 1850 1 year 7 months 5 days
>
Wondering if they had any children that lived to marry and carry on this line
I also found in old Sullivan Co Masonic records that David J. Knapp was a charter member of Lodge #532 in Monticello. He was listed as a mechanic living in Fallsburgh.
