Organization of the Presbyterian Church 1879 - Charter Members

What I mistakenly called a charter was actually a hand written "Organization of A Presbyterian Church" and known as the "Upper Westfield" dated June 29th, 1879.  However,  in the 1909 booklet I spoke of "'Presbyterianism in the Town of Rockland" by Rev Henry A. Harlow, page 9 reads "The Purvis Church" On Jan 11, 1880 a church was organized in the village of Purvis by committee from the Presbytery of Hudson. On Jan 9, 1881 a church building was completed and dedicated free from debt. Until Oct. 1883 it was supplied by members of Presbytery and by Messrs Beattie and McWilliams.
Getting back to the article that my Mother-in-Law found in her attic, and given the date it was written I would hazard to guess that this may have been an earlier attempt toward the Organization which was followed by a more official motion by the Presbytery of Hudson. Looking even closer now at the article I have copy of it would appear that what I first thought were signatures may be only a listing of future members or congregates. I make this assumption because the handwriting seems to be the same. You will note that there is also some notation by most if not all names either a X or the word full?

Information came from a booklet which explains the history of each of the Presbyterian Churches in the town of Rockland up until 1909. These include, the first one Shin Creek, the second one at Westfield Flats and last Purvis. The book was the property of Mrs. Treyz. - Wayne
